Multi-Strand Link Necklace with Gemstone, Pearl & Insignia Charms

I am excited and honored to announce that this necklace will be one of two items to be displayed by me at the 2013 Prime Time Emmys Gift Lounge. (Check out my other listings for the men's piece I created for the display.) I am one of ten jewelry designers who will be represented by The Artisan Group at the celebrity gift lounge, and will be including 100 pieces (of a much smaller nature) from this collection for the celebrity swag bags.

I adore anything that feels like it has a story to tell. That includes these wonderful insignias, which I create using Victorian-era brass intaglios stamped in Metal Clay. This particular insignia features two birds gathered on a birdbath, one drinking and the other watching.

Once stamped, the metal clay is fired in my kiln at temperatures nearing 1300 degrees. I then oxidize and polish each insignia to bring out the detail and a high shine. Because each insignia is created by me at the time your order is placed, there will be slight variations in size, depth and edge detail. If you prefer a very smooth edge, please let me know and I will make every effort to accommodate your preferences.

Three strands of sterling and gemstones are secured to a handforged sterling circle which as been hammered and oxidized, then tumbled for a high shine. A handforged S-Hook provides a secure clasp. The first strand is made up of gorgeous, faceted labradorite rondelles, measuring approximately 3mm in size. They have been linked together with sterling silver wire which has been lightly oxidized to bring out the texture in each wrap. A second strand of lightly oxidized hammered sterling chain adds sparkle and texture. The last strand consists of lovely peacock blue freshwater pearls which are linked using oxidized sterling silver. I love pearls, and I think the combination of textures and colors is both striking and versatile.

Many different charms dangle from the 1.25" hammered circle, including a faceted Labradorite briolette (approximately 12mm), a freshwater pearl (approximately 4.5mm), a strand of Labradorite rondelles (all approximately 4mm) and a Victorian Insignia detailing two birds and a birdbath. (If you prefer a different insignia, just let me know!)
