As a new mom at the ripe old age of 43, I wanted a piece of jewelry to symbolize motherhood, without being too "cheesy." I kind of think this does the trick, and it's such a lovely symbol of Spring, and rebirth and security, and pretty much everything I hold dear. While these are a lovely gift for a mom, grandmother or mom-to-be, they are equally well suited for a bird or nature lover as well.
A trio of luminous freshwater pearls, each approximately 4mm in size, is held snuggly in a nest of oxidized sterling silver wire. Each nest is approximately 1/2 inch across, and dangles from highly polished, hand forged sterling earwires. (Other colors are available, please inquire and I will happily send you images of the pearls currently available.)
Our nests are lovingly handcrafted with careful attention paid to the durability and integrity of each piece. Each nest is made from over two feet of sterling wire, which has been oxidized and hand polished to bring out the depth, texture and intricacy of each nest.
Built for strength, protection and endurance, birds' nests have long been symbolic of home and a mother's love. Delicate but strong, nests have the ability to withstand even the strongest of storms.
